Season two of this very popular half-hour television show has begun airing. From Farm to Table is a co-production of Cornell Cooperative Extension and WMHT Public Television station.
Returning host Kim Sopczyk, a nutrition educator at CCE Warren County, demonstrates how easy it is to select, use and prepare fresh products that are grown/produced in the greater Capital region. The series also introduces viewers to regional farmers who talk about how food is produced and the sustainable agriculture practices they employ at their farms.
Each of the 13 episodes features four quick, healthy, nutritious recipes that illustrate how consumers can stretch their food dollars using local products.
Farm to Table was a project of the Capital District Regional Marketing Committee, in which CCE in Fulton & Montgomery plays an active role. Twenty-two CCE staff from six counties were part of the production process for season two. Last year’s series was broadcast on five other PBS stations in NYS outside the WMHT viewing area. The show, which began its run on January 23rd, airs on Saturdays at 2:30 p.m. You can also check out more information on the WMHT website: www.wmht.org
