According to a press release from Randy Siver, Montgomery County Planner, the Montgomery County Census Complete Count Committee is peased to announce the 2010 Census Pep Rally to be held at Fulton-Montgomery Community College on Friday, March 5th, 2:30-3:30 p.m.
With 2010 Census questionnaires expected to begin arriving in the mail during mid-March, this event is to highlight the importance of a complete count. Special guest speakers will include Congressman Paul Tonko, Assemblyman George Amedore, Monica M. Arias, Co-Chair, Capital Region Hispanic Complete Count Committee and Janice Young, U.S. Census Bureau Partnership Specialist.
The Montgomery County Complete Count Committee is assisting the U.S. Census Bureau in achieving a Complete Count. These efforts include public outrach and encouraging every Montgomery County resident to complete and return their 2010 Census Questionnaire. The Questionnaire has only 10 questions and should take no longer than 10 minutes to compete. Over $400 billion in funding to states and localities is allocated based on this confidential demographic information. Census data is also used to determine election district boundaries.
It is crucial that there be no undercounting in the 2010 Census. Every Montgomery County resident must be counted. Please join with other residents at the 2010 Census Pep Rally and learn what you can do to ensure a Complete Count.
