Were you elected as a new club officer and have never held that office before or would you like to learn more about being the best club officer? Those 4-H Youth who have been elected as officers of their 4-H Club will learn what it takes to do the best possible job with their office. Offices to be covered include, President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, News Reporter, and, Choose Health Officer/Recreation Leader. In addition to the training there will be pizza and drinks available for dinner. All youth & adults interested in participating in the 2020 Dairy Quiz Bowl competition please plan to attend this meeting. We are in need of adult coaches with a passion for dairy that would be willing to volunteer to coach, hold practices & attend the event in March 2020. We ask that all interested youth attend so that we know what teams we be able to fill. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. RSVP by Tuesday, November 12th.

This group of 4-H volunteers make it all happen for the 4-H Horse Program! At these meetings we will be discussing the specifics of this year’s 4-H horse events, as well as county level horse shows. This workshop will be led by Jenny Galough. This six week program will be on Thursdays, 6-7pm. Startiing on November 7th, 14th, 21st and December 5th & 12th. Concluding with an Art Show on Thursday, December 19th. She will cover the necessities to creating quality photos and how to evaluate photography. Previous participants are engouraged to attend as well. We do not supply cameras. Youth are welcome to bring any form of camera they have access to. If you do not have access to a camera, please contact the 4-H office. Smartphone cameras are acceptable to use in this class. RSVP to the 4-H office by Thursday, October 31st.

Join Tamara Healy & Kyle Yacubucci for a fun filled time learning to play as an ensemble. Do you currently play a musical instrument? Interested in making music with your fellow 4-Her's? Interested youth must bring their own instruments and music stand. This ensemble is instrumental only, vocal not included. Please RSVP to the 4-H office by Thursday, October 31st. This program will conclude with a exibition at the 4-H Arts Show on Thursday, December 19th.

GPS Navigation & GeocachingSchoharie Crossing - 129 Schoharie St, Fort Hunter We will meet in the Ender House Saturday, October 19th 1-3pm Limited to 15 participants, age 9 to adult. Cost $5 per participant.This presentation will include learning how to use a GPS for navigation.Geocaching is a good way to start learning with a GPS as it gives you a specific target to navigate to. We will get a brief history on GPS navigation & the science behind how it works, how to use the apps that come with a GPS, learn about Geocaching from a computer, GPS & phone app. Downloading the Geocaching.com app on your phone or the C:geo app prior to session will put you ahead in being able to navigate. Dress for the weather & wear closed toed shoes & long pants as we will be walking outdoors & getting into brush.
We do have a limited number of GPS units available for your use. Light refreshments will be provided. RSVP by October 16th to the 4-H office, 518-853-2135.

Join Marigrace Hoag & Agnes Rodd for a fun evening of arts & crafts! Youth ages 8 and older may choose to create either an indoor quilt square on canvas or paint a ceramic figurine. Limited to one project piece per youth. Given the date of the class, youth will be automatically entered in the correct project and class for the Fonda Fair upon RSVP’ing for this class. RSVP to the 4-H Office by Monday, July 29th. Cost $15 per youth. Please bring a snack to share with the class.Will be held in Room 111 at the Montgomery County Annex

4-H is the largest out of school youth organization in the United States with over 6 million youth members.
In the 2008-2009 program year, 7,523 young people ages 5-19 participated in 4-H programs in Fulton and Montgomery Counties with more than 200 volunteers contributing more than 42,000 hours in nurturing, caring relationships with youth.
