Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (YQCA) training is designed to keep youth up to date on content related to industry standards and government regulation. This program will introduce youth to the importance of animal health in a wide variety of species. Youth will explore the importance of bio security, animal well-being, food safety, and life skills. Youth will become certified through classroom and hands-on instructional settings.
This is a first-come, first-serve class that will only be accepting the first 25 youth ages 8 to 19 so be sure to sign up quickly. This class will be taught by Nicole Tommell whom is a certified trainer for YQCA. To learn more, visit http://yqca.org/
Cost is $10 per youth.

The Fulton-Montgomery 4-H show will be held at the Fonda Fairgrounds on Sunday, June 23rd, starting at 9am. Pre-registration with payment must be submitted to the 4-H office by 4:30pm on Friay, June 7th. Note: New this year, No day of show entries will be accepted for the 2019 show. Only class additions to existing pre-entries will be allowed. Please see the attached copy for more information, class list and registration form. 4-H MEAT BIRD PROJECTThis project is for youth interested in learning about how to properly raise chickens as a food source.
Youth participating in this project will receive six Cornish/Rock chicks on Wednesday, July 17th. The youth will also receive a bag of feed and a 4-H Meat Bird Project Record Book accompanying the chicks. The 4-H Meat Bird Record Book is to be completed and submitted with the entry at the Fonda Fair.
After the fair these birds will be processed and the meat returned to the youth.
This is mandatory.
Cost for the six chicks, feed and project record book is $30 per youth.

4-H Rabbit Clinic

Held after the Mystery Chick Project meeting.
Join us for a fun filled evening of learning about rabbits and cavies. Youth will learn basic care, showmanship and more! Youth are encouraged to bring their animals with them to practice showmanship. To attend, please RSVP to the 4-H Office by Monday, July 22nd.

* Member Project Data Sheet: Be sure to use the month of May to check what 4-H projects you enrolled in at the beginning of the current 4-H year. June 1st is the last day to enroll in a project to be eligible for entry in the 2019 Fonda Fair. You must be enrolled in the correct project area to exhibit items from that project. If you have any questions concerning which projects you are enrolled in or enrolling in another please contact the 4-H office. * All Animal Certificates: *All Horse Project Animals (only those with submitted horse papers will be notified of horse dayz & shows) *Animal Certificates for non-registered, grade/commercial dairy, beef, swine, goat & sheep ¨ Animal Lease Agreement:
*If you are leasing an animal from another person, you must fill out an “animal lease agreement.” *You are allowed to lease two animals of the same species, but only allowed to show one at the fair. *A lessor/owner cannot lease to a family member of the same farm operation. The lessee involved in a family farm cannot lease from another family member from the same farm. * 2018-19 Member Enrollments: If your child or members of your club have not officially enrolled or re-enrolled for the 2018-2019 4-H Club Year, you need to submit your enrollment/re-enrollment papers/fees and project updates by June 1st! A youth must be enrolled to: *be recognized as an official 4-H member *be eligible for 4-H insurance coverage *remain on the 4-H mailing list *be eligible for participation in 4-H at the 2019 Fonda Fair
