She will be teaching participants the proper ways to administer vaccinations, ear tagging, ear notching, castration and proper restraint and safety while working with animals.

In addition to land rental rates, from determining fair land sale values on farms will be touched upon. FSMA/Gap Training Opportunity

The National Young Farmers Coalition (NYFC) is offering an FDA approved, 2-day training on Produce Safety Rules (PSR) to be held in Otsego County this spring. The training will cover Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) requirements for growers. NYFC is subsidizing the cost of the workshop, which will be approximately $40 per person, which includes lunch, a certificate of completion, and a binder of materials.

Y., February 8, 2019 – The Wildlife Management Institute, in partnership with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), Audubon New York, the National Wild Turkey Federation, Quality Deer Management Association, and the Ruffed Grouse Society, is offering an additional opportunity for producers in New York State to apply for financial assistance to address insufficient young forest habitat for targeted wildlife species.

The spotted lanternfly is an excellent hitchhiker and moves primarily through human movement, giving it the potential to show up anywhere in the United States. It is important to know how to properly identify this pest and report its sighting. Each webinar will be one hour in length and cover:
New Farmers Grant Fund
Posted 12/5/2018 ![]() NYS announced $1 million for the 5th round of the New Farmers Grant Fund. The Grants will help beginning farmers improve profitability through one or both of specific goals. Grants may provide a minium of $15,000 and a maximum of $50,000 for up to 50% of total projecet costs.
