The 4-H Public Presentation program in Fulton and Montgomery Counties is a wonderful program where youth gain valuable experience public speaking. On March 14th over thirty 4-H youth ages 5-19 presented topics ranging from Cheesy Creamy Broccoli Soup, Horse Grooming , Kittens, Woodworking, Limestone and its Uses, Heat Stress in Cows, Rabbit Showmanship, Protective Gear of a Firefighter and many more. As a result of this program youth not only learn a lifelong skill but gain poise and self-confidence while learning how to organize information and present it in an interesting way.
This event would not have been possible without the help of many volunteers. A huge thank-you goes out to this year’s skilled evaluators Fran Miller, Mike Settle and Greg Young. In addition to all the volunteers that help make this night a success. The 4-H staff welcomed Kohl’s employees who assisted the entire evening by taking photos of youth presenting and being room hosts.
The following 4-Hers were chosen to represent Fulton/Montgomery counties at the district event on April 26th: Megan Dion, Wyman Conbeer, Evelyn Fessenden, Michael Johnson, Philip Johnson, Katie Joyce, Shellie Joyce, Jennifer Keehan and Sarah Subik. In addition, Schuyler Claes, Haley Claes, Jesse Cressy and Alison Busch were chosen to present at the Regional Horse Communications event.
